Experience tripping with an
E-Scooter for short rides to work, play, or school.

All-terrain vehicles (ATVs) perform well on trails through woodlands, stones, mud, sand and snow. We have snowy and slushy days for a long time in the Niagara and Hamilton regions. You might find one of our ATVs the right choice for emergency use and all kinds of fun.

Get in the saddle with an e-bike to reach your destination quickly while enjoying the scenery and wind in your face.

What the Governments say about “E”

To legally drive an ebikeyou must be at least 16 years old and wear a helmet. The province of Ontario allows you to operate or own an ebike without a license.

E-bikes are permitted on most residential roads and highways but only on designated bike lanes. However, municipalities have the right to restrict where e-bikes may be used and ban certain types, including:

  • 400-series highways and other major provincial highways
  • Any municipal roads or sides that restrict bicycles
  • Municipal roads, sidewalks, bike paths, bike trails, or bike lanes where e-bikes are restricted
  • E-bikes are prohibited in recreational parks (https://www.linkalaw.ca/ontario-e-bike-laws/)

Canada’s Motor Vehicle Safety Regulations (MVSR) defines E-bikes as Power Assisted bicycles (PABs) which require no license to operate.

Ministry of Transportation Ontario has several vehicle safety and operator requirements to operate an e-bike on Ontario’s public roads. http://www.mto.gov.on.ca/english/driver/electric-bicycles-faq.shtml

Municipalities have their own bylaws and rules about the use of E-Bikes and Scooters. As part of a five-year pilot project launched by the provincial government on Jan. 1, 2020, rules and requirements for e-scooters such as helmet requirements and minimum age have been set. It’s now up to municipalities to pass bylaws to allow their use and determine where they can operate safely (https://www.stcatharinesstandard.ca/news/niagara-region/2020/01/20/niagara-s-municipal-councils-tasked-with-making-decisions-on-electric-scooters.html)
